About 104.5 KZEP
KZEP-FM signed on at 104.5 FM in San Antonio in 1966 as KITE-FM and later ran rock formats as KEXL and KXZL. It took the KZEP call letters in 1986 and soon settled on classic rock, which it kept for nearly three decades; Lotus Communications traded the station to Clear Channel (now iHeartMedia) in 2008. In August 2014 the classic rock format moved to the HD2 channel and a translator, and the main 104.5 signal now carries a Spanish-language hits format.
