"Byegone" comes from Repave, the second album by the Wisconsin band Volcano Choir, released on Jagjaguwar in September 2013. Justin Vernon wrote the words and sings them, while the music belongs to the rest of the band: Jon Mueller, Chris Rosenau, Matthew Skemp, Daniel Spack and Thomas Wincek. They produced and recorded it themselves, with BJ Burton and Brian Joseph helping on the mix.
