UGK brought in their fellow Southern duo Outkast for "Int'l Players Anthem (I Choose You)", which dropped on June 6, 2007 as the second single off Underground Kingz, the pair's fifth studio album. DJ Paul and Juicy J of Three 6 Mafia produced it, and the beat had a past: it was first made for Project Pat, who used it on "Choose U" from his 2002 album Layin' da Smack Down. Underneath it all sits a sample of Willie Hutch's "I Choose You", and Hutch shares the writing credit with Bun B, Chad Butler, Juicy J and DJ Paul.
It reached number 70 on the Billboard Hot 100, the first and only time UGK made that chart. The official remix, with Three 6 Mafia taking verses, turns up as a bonus track on the album.
