“Igor's Theme” by Tyler, the Creator

"Igor's Theme" throws open the doors on IGOR, the fifth studio album from rapper and producer Tyler, the Creator, released in May 2019, and it sets up the story the rest of the record goes on to tell, catching the giddy rush of a relationship just getting started. It idles on a synth for 23 seconds before the drums arrive at the 24-second mark, sampled from "Attention", a 1970 Bob Welch song, loping along at 79 beats per minute.

Tyler arranged and produced it, recorded it with Victor Wainstein and left the mix to Neal Pogue. Lil Uzi Vert co-wrote it and takes an uncredited lead vocal, Solange drops in as a guest, and Amanda Brown, Anthony Evans and Tiffany Stevenson sing backup. Fans got their first taste in a 50-second teaser on May 1, 2019.
