"Lay Down" was the lead single from Visions, the debut album by Australian producer Touch Sensitive, and it arrived in 2017 sounding in no particular hurry. Pilerats' Troy Mutton heard shimmering piano house slowed just enough to leave the groove room to breathe on the dancefloor, and The Interns picked out the soulful vocals woven through it.
It's a slow-burner rather than a sugar rush, and it kept on burning. The track earned a nomination at the 2018 AIR Awards in the independent dance and electronic club category, and in April 2024, nearly seven years after it first appeared, it was certified double platinum in Australia.
