“Wherever You Go” by The Avalanches featuring Jaime XX, Neneh Cherry, CLYPSO and Jamie xx & Neneh Cherry & CLYPSO

"Wherever You Go" packs a crowd onto We Will Always Love You, the third Avalanches album, released by Modular Recordings in December 2020. Neneh Cherry and CLYPSO sing, Cameron McVey adds extra vocals, Mick Jones sits in on piano, and Robbie Chater produced and mixed it, with Tony Di Blasi, Andrew Szekeres and Jamie xx credited for additional production. The writing credit is split seven ways.

The album was the follow-up to 2016's Wildflower, and Chater cleared the decks before starting on it, parting with most of a 7,000-strong record collection to make a fresh start. The new album still runs on samples, hundreds of them, but it leans less on wholesale collage than the band's earlier work.
