"Bangarang" hit in 2012 as one of Skrillex's biggest singles, a brawling slab of electronic rock that the tag-makers filed under moombahcore and complextro, with guest rapper Sirah cutting in and out of the racket from start to finish. The two share the writing credit, and the record went out on Big Beat and Atlantic.
The title is Jamaican Patois for a noisy commotion, and it reached Skrillex by way of the 1991 film Hook, which turned it into a battle cry. Fitting name. The song charted in the US, the UK, Australia, New Zealand and a handful of European countries, picked up spins on some modern rock stations, and won the Grammy for Best Dance Recording.
