"Worlock" came off Skinny Puppy's 1989 album Rabies, and it's a genuinely nasty piece of work: the band lifts the guitars from the Beatles' "Helter Skelter" and splices in Charles Manson singing the same song. cEvin Key, Ogre and Dwayne Rudolph Goettel wrote it, and Dave Ogilvie produced it and mixed it with Goettel and Marc Ramaer. Ogre, the band's singer, counted it among their better songs.
The video goes further, stitching together graphic scenes pulled mostly from horror and giallo films, Suspiria, Hellraiser and Re-Animator among them, and the X-rated cut opens on a transmission sound borrowed from Videodrome. There's even a mispressed CD release out there that holds Sinéad O'Connor's "The Emperor's New Clothes".
