Rise Against unveiled their ninth album and its title track together: "Nowhere Generation" came out as a single the day the record was announced, one of four singles for it along with "Talking to Ourselves", "The Numbers" and "Broken Dreams, Inc". The album followed on Loma Vista in June 2021, four years on from Wolves, with Jason Livermore, Bill Stevenson, Chris Beeble and Andrew Berlin sharing production.
The American punk band took the long road there. Once the Wolves touring was done and the acoustic The Ghost Note Symphonies, Vol. 1 was out, frontman Tim McIlrath let Kerrang! know in 2019 that new songs were coming together slowly and on purpose, and that the album would appear when it was ready, not when a calendar said so.
