"Bang Bang Bang" was the opening shot from Record Collection, the 2010 album by Mark Ronson & The Business Intl., landing in the UK in July, a couple of months before the album, and it stands on the unlikeliest of foundations: "Alouette", the French-Canadian children's song whose title means skylark. The chorus borrows straight from it, and the video opens with a little girl singing it.
Q-Tip and MNDR take the vocals, with MNDR also on keyboards alongside Victor Axelrod, Nick Movshon on bass and Homer Steinweiss on drums. Ronson produced, Tom Elmhirst mixed, and the songwriting credit runs seven names deep. It went into the UK chart at number six, selling 50,170 copies in its first week.
