“1-800-273-8255” by Logic featuring Alessia Cara and Khalid

"1-800-273-8255" was the third single from Everybody, Logic's third album, and when Visionary Music Group and Def Jam put it out on April 27, 2017, the title did the talking: it was the phone number of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. The lifeline moved over to 988 in July 2022, though the old line still works.

Logic brought in two singers, Canada's Alessia Cara and the American Khalid, and all three wrote it with Dylan Wiggins, the Chainsmokers' Drew Taggart and 6ix, who produced it alongside Logic. It's pop-rap with its heart out in the open, and it found its audience: it climbed to 3 on the Hot 100 and was up for Song of the Year at the Grammys, with a Best Music Video nod on top.
