That record took the southern rock jam outfit into reggae and dub, recasting originals and covers alike, with guest spots from Michael Franti, Toots Hibbert and Willi Williams. Most of it was made in the studio, though a few songs are live recordings from the Beacon Theatre, Bonnaroo and Mountain Jam, remixed in dub style.
The song itself belongs to Al Green, who wrote its words and music, with Mabon Hodges also credited as a writer.
