Frontman David Le'aupepe wrote it alone, sings it and plays guitar and piano, with Joji Malani and Jung Kim on guitars, Kim doubling on keys, Max Dunn on bass and Donnie Borzestowski on drums. Adrian Breakspear produced it with the band, and Peter Katis mixed it.
It kept finding new ears: third place in the 2018 Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition, a gold certification at home in 2019, a slot in Fox Sports' promos for the 2018 NRL season, and a peak of 37 on the US Adult Alternative Songs chart, the band's first time on that list. Patrick Rohl's video earned him a Best Video nomination at the 2018 ARIA Music Awards.
