"Worst Trip" comes from We All Belong, the fourth Dr. Dog album, released on February 27, 2007, and the band kept it entirely in-house: they're credited with writing, recording and mixing it themselves. Like the rest of the record, and the Takers and Leavers EP before it, it went down on 24-track tape. Across We All Belong the band stretched its indie-rock sound with a wider spread of instruments and psychedelic group harmonies, and Rolling Stone put the album at 39 on its Top 50 Albums of 2007.
