“Say My Name” by Destiny's Child

"Say My Name" was the third single from The Writing's on the Wall, Destiny's Child's second album, sent out by Columbia in October 1999, and it catches the group mid-shuffle. The recording still has the original lineup, LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson included; they wrote it with Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, LaShawn Daniels, Fred Jerkins III and Rodney Jerkins, who also produced. By the time of the video, Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin had replaced them.

It turned out to be the biggest of the album's four singles, their second American number one and their first in Australia, and it won 2 Grammys, Best R&B Song among them, while the video took Best R&B Video at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. Billboard later named it the best song of 2000, and Pitchfork ranked it eighth among the best songs of the 1990s.
