Big Boi opened the account for his solo debut, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, with "Shutterbugg", the album's first single in 2010, and it bounces like a car with the hydraulics set to party. He co-produced it with Scott Storch and handed the chorus to the singer Cutty, while Bosko's talkbox, Kevin Kendrick's organ and Donny Mathis on guitar give the groove its rubbery, space-age funk, with Debra Killings on backing vocals.
Critics bit hard. Rolling Stone ranked it the 14th best single of 2010, PopMatters put it at number seven on its year-end list, and it earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group. Chris Robinson directed the video, building its scenes around different lines of Big Boi's rhymes, and the song later landed on the NBA 2K11 and NBA 2K25 soundtracks.
