Mint, Alice Merton's debut album, didn't land until 2019, but its second single, "Lash Out", was already out on May 30, 2018. The German-Canadian-English singer wrote it with Dave Bassett and produced it with him, with Nicolas Rebscher as co-producer and Serban Ghenea on the mix.
Like her singles "No Roots" and "Hit the Ground Running", it rides a guitar-heavy track. It came out through Paper Plane Records and Mom + Pop Music with a video in tow, co-directed by Max Nadolny and Jonas Stark and shot in Berlin and South Africa, and it was also tacked onto the American re-release of her EP No Roots.
