Glitterbug by Wombats
Glitterbug is an album by Wombats, released in 2015. 3 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 11 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Give Me A Try”, on 6 lists with a best position of #56.
Glitterbug, the Wombats' third full-scale studio album, came out on 13 April 2015, though the Liverpool trio had been dropping hints for a year and a half: "Your Body Is a Weapon" surfaced as the first single back in October 2013. Produced by Mark Crew together with the band, it nudges their jittery indie rock toward a glossier, more dance-ready sheen, with Matthew Murphy's vocals out front and Tord Øverland Knudsen and Dan Haggis keeping things taut underneath.
"Greek Tragedy", "Give Me a Try", "Be Your Shadow" and "Emoticons" followed as singles, and a Glitterbug B Sides EP dropped the same day as the album itself. It went top five at home, got to number two in Australia and became the first Wombats record to make the Billboard 200, before the band hauled it around on the Glitterbug Tour.
