Electrophonic Chronic by The Arcs

Electrophonic Chronic, the second album from the Arcs, finally surfaced on January 27, 2023, on Dan Auerbach's Easy Eye Sound label, long after a follow-up to 2015's Yours, Dreamily, was first floated and then fizzled. Most of it was cut before Richard Swift died in 2018, so this is the Black Keys frontman's side band in its original lineup one last time: Auerbach, Leon Michels, Nick Movshon, Homer Steinweiss and Swift.

Auerbach and Michels co-produced across three rooms, Easy Eye Sound in Nashville, Electric Lady in Manhattan and Michels' own Diamond Mine in Queens, and the result is woozy, sun-faded garage soul full of Farfisa wheeze and fuzzy guitar. "Keep On Dreamin'" came out first, on October 13, 2022, the same day the album was announced, and "Heaven Is a Place" followed with a visualizer that pays tribute to Swift.
