Before We Forgot How to Dream, the debut album from Derry singer-songwriter Soak, came out on Rough Trade on 29 May 2015, while Bridie Monds-Watson was still in their teens. The stage name folds "soul" and "folk" into one word, which is a fair map of the music: hushed, inward songs sung by a voice that sounds like it's thinking out loud, the kind of teenage deep-thinking the Guardian heard in Soak's writing. "Sea Creatures" drifts along on the same slow undertow.
It earned a Mercury Prize nomination in 2015, and in March 2016 it won the Choice Music Prize.
