Thread, the second album from Akron, Ohio rockers Red Sun Rising, came out on Razor & Tie on March 30, 2018, and it's the sound of a band that learned something on the road. Touring behind 2015's Polyester Zeal, singer Mike Protich told Billboard, gave them new skills and bigger ambitions, and this time they wanted to catch how they really sounded live instead of the slick gloss of the debut, trying out new instruments and borrowing textures from other eras and genres.
The singles kept coming: "Deathwish", "Veins", "Lonely Girl", "Stealing Life", "Fascination" and "Left for Dead", 6 in all counting two promotional ones. Critics were kind, and the album climbed to number 21 on Billboard's hard rock albums chart.
