THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE. by RAYE

THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE., RAYE's second studio album, arrived independently through Human Re Sources in 2026, and it plays like a victory lap for a songwriter who once walked away from a major label that wouldn't release her debut. She wrote it and co-produced it with a team that includes Jordan Riley, Mike Sabath and none other than Hans Zimmer, who also turns up as a featured guest alongside Al Green and her sisters Amma and Absolutely.

The palette is enormous, ranging from big band and jazz to soul, blues and sweeping orchestral pop, all in service of songs about hope, freedom and the knotty business of feeling things. The swinging "Where Is My Husband!" gave her a second UK number one, "Nightingale Lane" and "Click Clack Symphony" followed it into the top twenty, and the album became her first to top the UK chart, to raves across the board.
