The Stories We Tell Ourselves is an album by Nothing More, released in 2017. 2 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 8 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Go to War”, on 7 lists and voted number one once.
The Stories We Tell Ourselves, the fifth album from San Antonio's Nothing More, landed on September 15, 2017, their second for Eleven Seven Music and the follow-up to the self-titled record that finally broke them. They started on it in 2016 while still touring, and it hits like a band that knows an audience is waiting: Jonny Hawkins, the old drummer turned frontman, roars and croons over Mark Vollelunga's serrated guitar, Daniel Oliver's bass and Ben Anderson's drums.
"Go to War" was the knockout punch, topping the Mainstream Rock chart that November and outrunning every single they'd had before. It also earned the band Grammy nominations for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song, with the album itself up for Best Rock Album. "Do You Really Want It", "Just Say When" and "Let 'Em Burn" kept the singles coming into late 2018.
