Teatro d'ira: Vol. I, Måneskin's second album, came out on RCA and Sony on 19 March 2021, and it's the record that carried Italian rock out of the piazza and onto charts all over Europe. The Roman four-piece had graduated from busking in the street to a runner-up finish on Italy's X Factor, and here Damiano David, Victoria De Angelis, Thomas Raggi and Ethan Torchio play hard rock with glam swagger and zero apology: Raggi's riffs strut, De Angelis's bass struts harder, and David sings like he's daring the room to look away.
"Zitti e buoni" won Sanremo and then the Eurovision Song Contest, and after that the album simply took off, topping the charts in Italy, Finland, Lithuania and Sweden. "Vent'anni", "Coraline" and "I Wanna Be Your Slave" kept the momentum going, and that year they went where no Italian rock band had gone before, into the UK singles top 10.
