My Wild West by Lissie
My Wild West is an album by Lissie, released in 2016. 1 song from it has charted on rock radio countdowns, with 9 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Don't You Give Up on Me”, on 9 lists with a best position of #41.
My Wild West, Lissie's third album, came out on February 12, 2016, and it's the first she made after stepping away from the majors: Back to Forever had been her last release for a big label, and this one went out on her own Lionboy imprint together with Thirty Tigers. The freedom suits her. Born Elisabeth Corrin Maurus, she sounds loose and unhurried here, her big, smoky voice riding folk-rooted songs that feel lived in rather than focus-grouped.
The promotional single "Hero" came first, with a video in November 2015, then "Don't You Give Up on Me" led the way proper, and "Daughters" raised money for Charity Water, which works to get clean water to women who need it. The critics liked what they heard: it's her best-reviewed record, averaging 73 on Metacritic. Castles followed in 2018.
