You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To by Knocked Loose

You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To, Knocked Loose's third album, came out on Pure Noise Records on May 10, 2024, with Drew Fulk producing. The Oldham County, Kentucky, hardcore crew had been sharpening their knives since 2013, through Laugh Tracks and A Different Shade of Blue, and the 2021 EP A Tear in the Fabric of Life had already dragged their sound toward death metal. This record picks up right where that left off.

Bryan Garris still sounds like he's shrieking from the bottom of a well, Isaac Hale and Nicko Calderon trade riffs heavy enough to crack concrete, and Kevin Otten and Kevin Kaine lock bass and drums into breakdowns that land like a tackle. "Suffocate" is the song that crossed over to the countdowns. Critics heaped praise on the album, and it gave the band their first number one on the UK Hard Rock & Metal chart.
