In Colour by Jamie xx

In Colour, released on Young Turks on 29 May 2015, is the debut solo album by Jamie xx, the producer who helped shape the sound of the xx. He pieced it together over five years, starting back when he was working on the band's first record, and after the remix set We're New Here he wanted it to break from everything he'd done before.

It does. In Colour is warm and wistful dance music, all bright shimmer and melancholy house pulses, as happy on headphones as on a club system. His xx bandmates Romy and Oliver Sim drop by, and so do Young Thug and Popcaan, who turn "I Know There's Gonna Be (Good Times)" into a sunny curveball. Critics fell hard for it: the album made the Mercury Prize shortlist, picked up a Brit nomination for British album of the year and a Grammy nod for Best Dance/Electronic Album.
