Spanish Dance Troupe, the sixth album from Carmarthen's Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, came out on Mantra on 4 October 1999, another dispatch from the most gloriously odd corner of Cool Cymru. Gorwel Owen produced it at Stiwdio Ofn in Llanfaelog on Anglesey, with Chris Blair mastering at Abbey Road, and the Welsh psych-folk band drift between whimsy and tender, wonky pop as the mood takes them.

Euros Childs is here, along with Megan Childs on violin, Richard James on bass and guitar and Euros Rowlands on drums. It's a farewell of sorts, too: founder John Lawrence plays guitar on it for the last time, and he had already left by the time the record reached the shops. The title track is the one that caught countdown ears; The Blue Trees came next.
