Skin by Flume
Skin is an album by Flume, released in 2016. 4 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 6 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Never Be like You”, on 3 lists and voted number one once.
Skin, Flume's second album, dropped on 27 May 2016, four years after his self-titled debut, and it's the Australian producer who helped put future bass on the map blowing his sound out to widescreen. He produced it himself and packed the guest list: Kai, Vic Mensa, Kučka, Tove Lo, Vince Staples, Allan Kingdom, Raekwon, Little Dragon, AlunaGeorge, MNDR and Beck all pass through.
The beats warp and buckle, synths crumple like tinfoil, and the pop hooks still land clean, nowhere more than on lead single "Never Be Like You", which picked up a Grammy nod for Best Dance Recording. The album opened at number one at home and cracked the top ten of the Billboard 200, took Album of the Year at the ARIAs and won the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album. A pair of Skin Companion EPs swept up the B-sides over the months that followed.
