Views, Drake's fourth studio album, came out in spring 2016, and it plays like one long, moody late-night drive. Drake and his longtime right hand 40 executive produced, with 40 steering most of the production alongside Nineteen85, Maneesh Bidaye, Kanye West and Jordan Ullman, and Boi-1da also credited.
This is where he dove headfirst into Jamaican dancehall, pulling in West Indian and West African flavors, Afrobeats and UK funky next to the usual moody R&B and trap. The themes haven't changed: romance, betrayal, loyalty and the friends who stayed. "One Dance" topped the Hot 100, with "Hotline Bling" and "Too Good" among the other singles. Critics mostly shrugged, calling it long and familiar, but the public didn't care: it sat at number one on the Billboard 200 for 13 weeks, every one of its 20 songs reached the Hot 100, and the RIAA certified it eight times platinum.
