Set Your Goals is an album by CIV, released in 1995. 1 song from it has charted on rock radio countdowns, with 4 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Can't Wait One Minute More”, on 4 lists with a best position of #59.
Set Your Goals, CIV's debut album, landed on Lava Records in October 1995, and it's close to a Gorilla Biscuits reunion under another name. Three of the New York band's members, the singer who gave CIV its name plus Sammy Siegler and Arthur Smilios, came out of the Biscuits, and with Quicksand now on a major label, Walter Schreifels gathered his old bandmates, wrote the record and co-produced it with Don Fury, even though he never joined.
What comes out is punk rock with hardcore's muscle and pop's sweet tooth, shouty and hooky at once. "Can't Wait One Minute More" was the hit, with Lou Koller of Sick of It All adding his voice, and it got a video along with "Choices Made". The album left its mark, too: the Bay Area pop-punk band Set Your Goals named themselves after it.
