Chris is an album by Christine and the Queens, released in 2018. 1 song from it has charted on rock radio countdowns, with 2 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Girlfriend”, on 2 lists with a best position of #8.
Chris, the second studio album from Christine and the Queens, came out through Because Music on 21 September 2018 in two versions, one in English and one in French. Following the hit debut Chaleur humaine, the Nantes-born Rahim Redcar goes all in on swaggering, sweat-soaked funk: rubbery bass, gleaming electropop synths and a voice that flirts, struts and confesses, often in the same breath.
"Girlfriend", in its French twin "Damn, dis-moi", arrived with Dâm-Funk on board, and "Doesn't Matter" also came in both languages. "5 Dollars" landed with an S&M-inspired video, and "La Marcheuse" followed in French. The digital edition runs to 23 tracks, 11 in English and 12 in French, most of them paired versions of the same song. Clash, The Guardian and The Independent all named it album of the year, and Time crowned "Girlfriend" its song of the year.
