The Lady Killer is an album by Cee-Lo Green, released in 2010. 1 song from it has charted on rock radio countdowns, with 18 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Fuck You”, on 18 lists with a best position of #2.
The Lady Killer, CeeLo Green's third solo album, came out on Elektra in 2010, and it's the Goodie Mob and Gnarls Barkley voice going full retro-soul showman. A small army handled production: Salaam Remi, Element, The Smeezingtons, Fraser T. Smith, Paul Epworth and Jack Splash.
It's funk-inspired, classicist soul with a wink, lavishly arranged, with that elastic voice selling every line. "Fuck You", the radio-safe "Forget You", is the ringer, a gleeful kiss-off with a bounce that became his biggest solo hit, reaching number two on the Hot 100 and winning a Grammy for Best Urban/Alternative Performance. It entered the Billboard 200 at number nine on first-week sales of 41,000, had sold 498,000 in the US by October 2012 and went double Platinum in the UK. Critics praised the production, the old-school approach and Green's singing.
