Desire, I Want to Turn Into You by Caroline Polachek

Caroline Polachek released Desire, I Want to Turn Into You on February 14, 2023, a Valentine's Day drop for a record that treats longing as a full-body sport. Her fourth studio album and the follow-up to the avant-pop of Pang, it was produced mostly by Polachek herself alongside Danny L Harle, with Dan Nigro, Jim-E Stack, A. G. Cook and Sega Bodega also in the credits.

This is art pop that refuses to sit still: electronic shimmer, club pulse and sudden detours into something older and stranger, all strung on a voice that can leap from a whisper to a siren inside one phrase. "Bunny Is a Rider", "Billions", "Sunset", "Welcome to My Island", "Blood and Butter" and "Smoke" all went out as singles. Critics lined up to call it her best work, it became her first album to chart across several countries, and it picked up a Grammy nomination for Best Engineered Album. A year to the day later came the expanded Everasking Edition.
