True by Avicii

True, the debut album from Swedish producer Avicii, came out on PRMD and Island on 13 September 2013, and it's the record where one of EDM's biggest names brought an acoustic guitar to the rave. He said upfront that he wanted to move beyond the house sound of his earlier records, and he did it by bolting country, bluegrass and soul onto the four-on-the-floor. "Wake Me Up", with Aloe Blacc singing over strummed guitar before the drop hits, was the proof, topping charts around the world, and "Hey Brother" pushed the idea further with its folky, stomping build. Nile Rodgers is among the names in the credits, and Swedish singer Salem Al Fakir fronts "You Make Me".

It opened at number two in the UK, went top ten in at least ten countries, and climbed back to number two in February 2014. A remixed version, True (Avicii by Avicii), followed that March.
