"Martini" was the fourth single the Australian duo the Presets took from Hi Viz, their 2018 album, and it's a torch song with a pulse. Julian Hamilton has explained that Martini was a dancer he once knew, cooler, clearer and tougher than he ever was, with a sharp edge he couldn't resist; she left him a wreck, and he'd tell you every second was worth it.
Chris Button of The AU Review caught it live in June 2018 and called it one of the new record's high points, Hamilton's dreamy falsetto and piano filling the room as it climbed to a euphoric close. It was also nominated for best song at the 2019 FBi SMAC Awards.
