"Ooh La La" is the title track of the Faces' last studio album, out in 1973, and it put the least likely voice in the band out front. Ronnie Lane and Ronnie Wood wrote it, and Rod Stewart and Lane each took a crack at the lead vocal; neither liked what he got, so producer Glyn Johns suggested Wood have a go, and his take made the record.

It's the Faces at their most unbuttoned and folky: Lane and Wood on acoustic guitars, Ian McLagan on piano and wheezing harmonium, Kenney Jones on drums, and Wood's plain, unvarnished singing, which suits it better than a star turn would have. Stewart cut his own version years later for When We Were the New Boys, and in 2021 Rolling Stone ranked the original No. 246 on its 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
