"Australia Street" was the third single Sticky Fingers pulled from Caress Your Soul, their 2013 debut, and it's the one that stuck. It's really two songs sewn into one: bassist Paddy Cornwall has explained that the verse came from a piece frontman Dylan Frost had written and the chorus from his own, and when the band butted the halves together they fit like they'd been built as a pair. Cornwall co-produced it with Dylan Adams and Dann Hume, and it came out through Sureshaker Music.
Its standing has only grown since. Triple J listeners voted it in at 70 in the 2013 Hottest 100, lifted it to 15 in the Hottest 100 of the Decade in 2020 and slotted it at 62 in 2025's Hottest 100 of Australian Songs, which makes it, for all practical purposes, the band's signature tune.
