“Disco Down” by Shed Seven

"Disco Down" sits on Let It Ride, the third album from York's Shed Seven, which Polydor released in June 1998, with Paul Banks writing the music. The record brought in some outside help, Inspiral Carpets' Clint Boon on keyboards and Heather "Lady Galadril" Findlay of fellow York band Mostly Autumn on vocals, and it arrived as a comeback. The first taste, the single "She Left Me on Friday", had critics hearing a new, punchier Shed Seven, with reviewers reaching for Black Grape and Blur as reference points, though the album itself drew a mixed response.
