“Real Love Song” by Nothing But Thieves

"Real Love Song" was the second single Nothing But Thieves pulled from Moral Panic, their third album, arriving in June 2020, four months before the record itself came out through Sony Music UK. Mike Crossey produced and mixed it, with guitarist Dominic Craik co-producing, and the writing credit is a six-way split between Craik, Crossey, Conor Mason, Joe Langridge-Brown, Julian Emery and Jim Irvin.

Mason sings, Craik and Langridge-Brown play guitar, Phil Blake is on bass and James Price on drums, with Stephen Sesso engineering. The band had started writing the album in early 2019, and though it arrived in the thick of the pandemic, its ideas came from social issues that were already in the air before COVID-19 hit.
