Stand for Myself is an album by Yola, released in 2021. 3 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 25 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Diamond Studded Shoes”, on 15 lists and voted number one once.
Stand for Myself, the second album from English singer and songwriter Yola, came out on 30 July 2021 on Easy Eye Sound, recorded at the studio of the same name and distributed by Concord. It follows Walk Through Fire, the 2019 debut that had already put her in the running for four Grammys, Best New Artist among them.
This time she goes bigger and brighter, a powerhouse voice riding sleek, retro soul and pop grooves, with the title track standing tall and "Diamond Studded Shoes" and "Dancing Away In Tears" spreading the glitter around. It gave her a first appearance on both the Billboard 200 and the UK albums chart, and it was nominated for Best Americana Album at the 2022 Grammy Awards.
