In Our Own Sweet Time, the third studio album from Australian singer-songwriter Vance Joy, came out through Liberation Music on 10 June 2022, four years after Nation of Two. James Keogh, the former Australian rules footballer behind "Riptide", wrote these songs during the COVID-19 pandemic, and there's a homebound, unhurried warmth to them that fits the title.
It's sunny, strummy folk-pop with big, open-hearted choruses, nothing that needs decoding. "Missing Piece", "Don't Fade", "Clarity" and "Every Side of You" all went out as singles ahead of it, and he took the songs on the road with the Long Way Home Tour, which kicked off in Darwin that September. The album also picked up a nomination for Best Independent Pop Album or EP at the 2023 AIR Awards.
