Baggariddim, UB40's sixth album, came out on DEP International in 1985, and it's the Birmingham reggae outfit remodeling its own house. Most of the tracks are fresh versions of songs from Labour of Love and Geffery Morgan, handed over to guest singers and toasters who chat and ride the rhythms.

The biggest guest was the Pretenders' Chrissie Hynde, whose duet with the band on "I Got You Babe" went to number one in the UK, Ireland and Australia. The follow-up, "Don't Break My Heart", was really the flip side of that single, "Theme from Labour of Love", with vocals laid over it, and it reached number three in the UK. Douglas Gilbert, lead trombonist of the London Symphony Orchestra, turned up too. In the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium it came in a gatefold with a bonus 12" EP of 3 tracks, while the US and Canada got an EP called Little Baggariddim instead.
