By Absence of the Sun by Triggerfinger
By Absence of the Sun is an album by Triggerfinger, released in 2014. 4 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 4 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Perfect Match”, on 1 list with a best position of #7.
By Absence of the Sun, Triggerfinger's fourth studio album, came out on Excelsior on 18 April 2014, and the trio from Lier, Belgium, went all the way to Los Angeles to make it, recording at Sunset Sound and mixing at RedStar Studios in the same city. Ruben Block sings and plays guitar, Paul Van Bruystegem holds down the bass and Mario Goossens pounds the drums.
It's a heavy, sweaty slab of stoner-tinged blues rock, all fuzz-caked riffs and a rhythm section that swings as hard as it hits, with Block's voice slinking between croon and snarl. "Perfect Match", the title track, "Off the Rack" and "Big Hole" all made it onto the countdowns, a fair sign of how deep the album runs.
