The Edges of Twilight, released on EMI in 1995, was the third album from Canada's The Tea Party, the band of Jeff Martin, Jeff Burrows and bassist and keyboardist Stuart Chatwood. Ed Stasium produced, and the band took the idea they'd floated on Splendor Solis, mixing world music into rock, and ran it all the way out to the horizon.

Instruments from around the globe coil through the blues-rock bones of these songs, giving the whole record a smoky, incense-and-desert-wind mystique; Burrows said they wanted to do for rock what Peter Gabriel had done for pop. "Fire in the Head" opens the album and takes its name, like the album itself, from a book by Tom Cowan. The gamble paid off at home: it went double platinum in Canada, reached #11 on the Canadian album chart and earned Juno nominations for Best Rock Album and Group of the Year.
