Dear 23, the Posies' second album, arrived on DGC in 1990 with John Leckie producing, and it's power pop polished until it glints. Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow, the songwriting pair who started the band in Bellingham, Washington, stack their voices in close harmony in the manner of the Hollies and the Merseybeat bands, then roughen the edges with some of the jangle and bite of XTC and Hüsker Dü.

"Golden Blunders" was the first single, a wistful, ringing gem good enough that Ringo Starr later covered it, and "Suddenly Mary" is all bright guitars and ache. "Apology" later turned up on the Children of Nuggets compilation, and Omnivore Recordings reissued the album in 2018.
