State of Emergency is an album by The Living End, released in 2006. 2 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 4 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Wake Up”, on 2 lists with a best position of #53.
State of Emergency, The Living End's fourth studio album, hit Australia and New Zealand on 4 February 2006 and the rest of the world on 11 July. Nick Launay produced, and the Melbourne trio of Chris Cheney on vocals and guitar, Scott Owen on double bass and Andy Strachan on drums came out swinging.
It's punk rock with a rockabilly slap and stadium-sized choruses, Cheney's guitar tearing through while Owen's upright thumps underneath. "What's on Your Radio" led off in November 2005, and "Wake Up" followed in February, debuting at number 5 on the ARIA singles chart, the band's best debut outside their breakthrough EP. The album itself entered the ARIA chart at number one, drew a J Award nomination for Australian Album of the Year and went double platinum by November 2007, second only to their debut in sales.
