Finn, the first album Tim and Neil Finn released as the Finn Brothers, came out on EMI in 1995, and it was a long time coming: the two had made music together since they were young, shared Split Enz, and written together for Crowded House's Woodface. They produced it with Tchad Blake in Auckland, and the result is a homespun, slightly off-kilter pop record.
The songs have that easy, unforced Finn melodic gift, and the brothers' voices wind around each other the way only siblings' can. "Suffer Never", "Angel's Heap" and "Only Talking Sense" went out as singles. The second Finn Brothers album, Everyone Is Here, didn't arrive until 2004.
