Like This, the dB's' third studio album, came out on Bearsville in 1984 with Scott Litt producing, and it's the first without co-founder Chris Stamey. The Winston-Salem natives who had formed the band in New York City carried on as a trio, Peter Holsapple, Will Rigby and Gene Holder, and the power pop stays bright, jangly and hook-first.
"Love Is for Lovers" and "A Spy in the House of Love" are the tracks that have lived on, and "Amplifier", the lead single from Repercussion, gets a second shot here in a new mix. The cover carries a sly bit of history: stills from the video for their 1982 single "Neverland", a clip that stayed unreleased until 2008, with Stamey, who was there for the shoot, edited out of every frame.
