Magic Hour by Surf Curse
Magic Hour is an album by Surf Curse, released in 2022. 1 song from it has charted on rock radio countdowns, with 1 countdown appearance in total. The biggest is “TVI”, on 1 list with a best position of #57.
Magic Hour, the fourth studio album from Surf Curse, came out on October 7, 2022, and it was the band's major-label debut, their first for Atlantic. Chris Coady produced it, and they cut it at Electric Lady Studios, a long way from the Reno indie surf-rock duo Nick Rattigan and Jacob Rubeck started in 2012. By now based in Los Angeles and filled out with Henry Dillon on bass, the band had a much bigger audience waiting after "Freaks" blew up on TikTok in 2020.
Rattigan still sings from behind the drum kit and Rubeck's guitars still shimmer with that sun-bleached surf-rock glow, but the bigger room gives everything more gloss and punch, "TVI" included. Reviews were generally favorable.
